FAREWELL
The RAID SCHWARZWALD-ALSACE was the last RAID designed and led by HA Bichsel.
In August 1991, the first rally, which he named RAID, started from Basel to Paris, the birthplace of the automobile in its present form. Many more RAIDs followed, each with its own distinctive character: WinterRAID, Asian RAID (Malaysia), RAID DU SUD, BELMOT RAID SUISSE, RAID Young Driver's Trophy, and RAID SCHWARZWALD-ALSACE. Also famous were the RAID Concours d'Elégance in Basel (from 1996) and the one on Bürkliplatz (from 1999) in Zurich. This revived the tradition of concours events in Switzerland, which had ebbed after World War II.
Now new protagonists will carry the flame of the RAID into the future.
On the current situation
Preparations for a new RAID structure are currently underway.
For this reason, all planned events of the RAID organization have been cancelled. The organization's telephone line will be temporarily in operation until September 20, 2025. After this date, we will only be available via info@raid.ch reachable.
The new RAID management will inform you about the upcoming rallies.

Especially at a time when the automobile is increasingly becoming a battery encased in a body, the historic automobile should and must live on as a contemporary witness.

The historic automobile with a combustion engine is the core of automotive culture, social change and growing prosperity – worldwide.
As much as the environment and the climate need to be taken care of, the historic automobile should be cared for, driven and passed on to younger generations. A formative part of our culture cannot simply disappear.
The RAID events have been committed to this goal since 1991 – for well over 30 years. The joy of driving, of experiencing and feeling a historic automobile on a long journey and in sporting competition – this too should be possible in the future.
We cultivate automotive culture and celebrate the history of this ingenious invention. Our rallies were the first to strive for climate neutrality; we are pioneers in getting young drivers excited about classic cars. We choose the most beautiful routes and let our participants participate in the diversity of countries and regions through which the RAID leads.
